Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare Official Trailer And Confirmed Release Date

Infinity Ward has finally released a reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The trailer itself proceeds to show the game’s main storyline completely letting go of all reality and blasting itself off to sci-fi land, as giant space ships, robots and controllable outer-space fighter jets are plastered all over the footage that is shown by the trailer. We can also see that the player will definitely be taken to other moons and planets at some point in the game, which means that zero gravity mechanics will be implemented into the game’s single-player and hopefully multiplayer to spice things up a bit.

The end of the trailer also reveals that a remastered version of the original Call of Duty; Modern Warfare will be included with the copy of COD: Infinite Warfare Legendary Edition. The remastered version only appears to have updated the graphics and in turn left the gameplay itself alone. However it is also possible that the multiplayer for Modern Warfare will be released with the game, therefore offering old players a return the classic days of COD multiplayer, and a new experience for those that have only joined in over the past few years.

The trailer confirms that the game is set to release on November 4th 2016, so there’s still more than enough time for new footage and trailers to be released by the developers, giving us more info on new mechanics and features that will be included in Infinite Warfare.

What we learnt about Far Harbor in April

April being the last month before the release of Fallout 4s most anticipated DLC so far, Far Harbor. A lot of new updates alluding to features of the DLC were added, here are the things we learnt about Far Harbor in April.

The Children of Atom may be a joinable faction:

A update to the PC version of the game added 12 new face paints for the player character, these face paints all having names that tie into the Children of Atom, although they are untextured, a video from a YouTuber  shows all 12 of the face paints in game, could these potentially mean that the Children of Atom is a joinable faction? We believe so. An official extract from Bethesda says that the DLC is heavily focused on the Children of Atom and their involvement on the island of Far Harbor:

A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.

There will be over 30 new settlement objects:

During a recent post, we detailed how a forum member had found information about the newest update for Far Harbor in the 1.5 updates files through Data Mining, new items such as elevators and racks are meant to be released in Far Harbor (To read more about the update, check out the post here)

New Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Trailer Shows Off Story and New Augmentations

The new Deus Ex: Mankind Divided trailer has recently been released and appears to explain the basic idea of the game’s story, as well as show a few of the new augmentations that are going to be featured in the game.

The story seems to be centred around the resulting consequences of what happened at the end of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, with the main protagonist (Adam Jensen) venturing out once more to uncover the dark secrets of the richest and powerful people on the planet. The story will also focus on the new threat of social unrest between people who carry augmentations and those who are still considered to be completely natural human beings.

The trailer mentions that Adam has a lot hidden experimental augmentations, which is most likely just used as the game’s excuse to include new and interesting abilities. One of these new abilities include covering yourself in a Nano shield and as a result “rove through like a reinforced tank”. Others that are shown include taking out multiple enemies without instantly killing them as well as using Nano blade grenades for the exact opposite effect. The trailer also shows that players will have the ability to customize their weapons which could be very handy for stealth oriented playthroughs of the game.

The game is set to release on August 23rd 2016, and by the looks of it, it’s very likely to be as good or even better than the previous title in the franchise.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Huge Leak – Logo, Release Date & More!

During Playstation Store’s last update on the PS4 in North America, Sony has mistakenly added a banner page with the title of: “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare”, which is now thought to be the official name of the next Call of Duty game that is set to be released later this year and is developed by Infinity Ward. Sony has quickly removed the banner page after realising what happened during the update, and no other information is known about the game has been revealed as of yet.

One of the new listings in an internal retail document show that the next Call of Duty game may be revealed next Tuesday the 3rd of May 2016. The image was posted by a well known and experienced games critic: Jim Sterling, therefore it is more believable than your average google image that you find on the internet. Neither Activision or Infinity Ward have released any public details about the game or its contents.

Another Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare image has been leaked from an unknown source. It appears to show a date under the main title: “11.4.16”, which indicates that the game is going to be released on the 4th of November 2016. It is not known whether the image is real, however if it is then the date has been put on what looks to be the cover of a standard version of the game.

Someone posted an image that looks like a poster for the “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition” on Snapchat. The top of the poster also appears to state that the legacy edition includes a copy of a remastered version of CoD: Modern Warfare, which could mean that the game will be re-released with improved graphics and possibly new features. This image of a poster came from an unknown source, therefore nothing is certain in terms of what the official poster for the game may actually look like as this image may easily just be a hoax. Hopefully that is not the case as a remastered version of the first Modern Warfare game would be a fun addition to the franchise.

Blizzard Explains Why Nostalrius Was Shutdown

Blizzard Explains Why Nostalrius Was Shutdown

On April 10 Blizzard has shutdown Nostalrius by issuing a cease and desist. Nostalrius was a custom vanilla World of Warcraft server made with the main purpose of letting players play the original version of the game.

A forum post from one of Blizzard’s employees explains that the server was shut down due to copyright infringement. The post states: “Why not just let Nostalrius continue the way it was? The honest answer is, failure to protect against intellectual property infringement would damage Blizzard’s rights. This applies to anything that uses World of Warcraft’s IP, including unofficial servers. And while we’ve looked into the possibility—there is not a clear legal path to protect Blizzard’s IP and grant an operating license to a pirate server.”

A petition demanding Blizzard to keep the server alive has been created and had even acquired 200,000 signatures which had personally been delivered by a former World of Warcraft team lead Mark Kern. However, the company shows no signs of letting the server go, which many speculate is due to a large fall in within the current player base of World of Warcraft’s main official servers over recent years.

Players who wish to re-live the old days of World of Warcraft may still get their chance, as further posts by the employee state that Blizzard is still open to the idea of releasing a “pristine realm”, which would turn off all levelling accelerations and attempt to make the game feel just like it did within the first few years of its release. It has also been revealed that the company has spoken to the people who operated Nostalrius, so it’s possible that the realm will be managed or at least influenced by people who know what Nostalrius fans truly want to experience. However, the post also kept a constant reminder that this idea is still only in discussion and therefore it is not completely guaranteed to happen as of yet.

Hopefully Blizzard will come up with something new (or should I say old) to appease the disappointed fans of Nostalrius, as they may risk lowering their main player base even further than expected within the nearby future.

Fallout 4 The Creation Kit Mod Program Released For PC

After a period of beta testing the creation kit, Bethesda has released it to the public, the creation kit allows modders to use the same toolsuite that Bethesda uses to develop the game, thus allowing them to also create new weapons, armors and more. The release of the creation kit (or the equivalent e.g G.E.C.K) marks the start of exciting mods for the game, whilst before modders were limited to only retexturing the games clothing, weapons with third party tools, with the creation kit they are able to create quest mods, include more animations and more content without the consequences of using any third party tools.

 Creation Kit Trailer:

In the video above, Fallout 4 developer Todd Howard is quoted as saying “The life of Fallout 4 in your hands is going to take us all places none of us anticipated” this shows that the support for the modding community is huge from Bethesda (I mean how many developers release a full toolsuite that they use to develop a game?

In their official blog post Bethesda states that their goal for the creation kit was to allow Fallout 4 modding to be ‘easier and more accessible than ever before.  Fallout 4 players are able to install new mods from inside the game, taking the away the need to use a website such as The users are able to upload their mods to and install them from inside their game.

Mods are officially available for PC users, with Xbox One users being able to access it sometime during May, an PS4 users being able to access them during June.

Microsoft Shuts Down The Manufacture Of The Xbox 360

After the console hit its ten-year anniversary back in November, Microsoft has finally decided to stop the manufacturing of the Xbox 360 gaming consoles. Microsoft states that the costs of manufacturing a decade old product are slowly creeping up on them, therefore it is reasonable to assume that the company is simply no longer earning a reasonable amount from the Xbox 360 platform. There is also a strong possibility that Microsoft is trying to put more focus on promoting and improving the Xbox One, a Xbox One 1.5 potentially, due to its lack of sales in comparison to its major competitor: The Playstation 4.

Even though new copies of the console will no longer be manufactured, Microsoft states that it will still provide support for all Xbox 360 users, and will continue doing so for some time. The console’s owners will still be able to use Xbox Live for apps and online play, with no Live servers being shut down as of yet. The online store will still sell games and accessories for the system. Hardware support will also still be provided by Microsoft in spite of the fact that no new consoles are being produced.

The remaining stock of Xbox 360s will still be sold by Microsoft and other retailers at the current price, however it is clear that they will not be as common within the next few years as they are today. More than 84 million Xbox 360 units have been sold within its lifetime, therefore leaving a difficult target to surpass for the Xbox One, especially after its sales rates were lower than originally planned due to consumer backlash over “innovative” changes to the console during its launch.

In conclusion, many will certainly feel sad to see the console that they grew up with go, especially when the Xbox One currently has a limited selection of backwards compatible games within its online store. This may change in time, but until that happens your best bet for playing older Xbox 360 titles, would be an actual Xbox 360.

What We Know About the Playstation NEO/4.5 So Far

PlayStation NEO?
PlayStation NEO?

There have recently been many rumours about Sony working on a new and improved version of the Playstation 4 console. It is commonly believed that Sony’s current console (Playstation 4) is not powerful enough to keep up with modern gaming technology which is why they have decided to work on a new strategy in order to keep the sales up for their consoles within the long run. It is also believed that Playstation NEO/4.5 will have more suitable hardware to handle Playstation VR, which is set to launch this October.

Most of what is known about the Playstation NEO heavily relies on speculation and theories, however certain news websites like Giant Bomb state that: “The NEO will feature a higher clock speed than the original PS4, an improved GPU, and higher bandwidth on the memory”, however other hardware such as the HDD will stay the same.

It is noted by the website that games will run on both the new and the old PlayStation consoles with NEO running the games with an improved visual fidelity as well as a higher frame rate. It is also possible that the console’s CPU will become more powerful and efficient due to new improvements in chip architecture.

The console’s release date is currently unknown, however it is most likely to be released after the PlayStation VR launches in October due to the fact that many consumers will be looking for a console that is powerful and optimised enough to run their new VR purchase. The price will be higher than the original PlayStation 4 by £50-£100, depending on how different NEO will be from the old console. The price also depends on whether Sony continues the current hard disks options of 500GB or 1TB.

In the end it is too early to say how much the Playstation NEO will differ from the original console, as new changes and upgrades will most likely be announced by Sony within the upcoming months, so it is a good idea to wait for further news before making any large decisions on whether to buy the console.

Why did everyone hate the DooM Multiplayer Beta?

Why did the beta recieve so much hate?
Why did the beta recieve so much hate?

It has been more than a decade since any studio has released a game in the Doom franchise (this Doom being the first released by Bethesda Studios) and seeing how sci-fi FPS games are now one of the most popular genres played today (especially on the PC), Doom could not have a better time to re-emerge with a new and graphically/systematically upgraded game. However once the game’s multiplayer was released to the public as an open Beta, instead of a pleased and excited community the developers faced a massive mob of angry and bitter players. Some of their hate stretched to the point of absolute despise towards anyone who talked positively about the game or even showed clips of it in the background of a YouTube video and etc. So what went wrong?

To start off, the angry mob comparison may have been slightly exaggerated, however the grand majority of people who played the Doom Multiplayer Beta did not claim to have had a good experience, and certain old fans of the franchise even appeared to be upset by what they witnessed as well as seriously worried about what the complete game design will be once the game is fully released.

One of the most common complaints that are heard about the game is that it is too generic, as a lot of its gameplay functions are borrowed from other games that are popularly played on the PC and consoles today. Features that are found in other modern first person shooters, like levelling, challenges and kill/death ratios have been implemented into the game, which theoretically should not be there as the Doom games have been famously acknowledged as being classed as arena shooters, which in other words are quick “jump in and have fun” shooters. This most likely isn’t a coincidence as the developers for Doom’s multiplayer are the same people who have worked on “Halo 5 Guardians’” multiplayer and have therefore most likely transferred certain aspects from their previous game onto Doom.

There have also been a lot of negative attention towards certain gameplay aspects by the public, notably old Doom players. One of which is the fact that players are not able to take their opponent’s guns and are instead forced to carry the guns that have been set by their load-out. The gauss rifle was the only gun that was available to be picked up from the ground, which is most likely due to the fact that it is considerable more powerful than the rest of the guns that are available for the players. This also brings up the point that certain weapons are a lot more powerful than other, therefore causing Doom’s the general weapons arsenal to be unbalanced, therefore making it very likely that future players will only use a single gun in multiplayer if this is still the case once the full game is out.

Instant melee has also been borrowed from Halo which is unusual as Doom’s previous titles used melee as its own weapon that you had to select from your weapon inventory in order to bash an enemy. This is disappointing as the old mechanic resulted in interesting and no less entertaining ways to kill enemies e.g.: the chainsaw. The chainsaw itself has been seen in the single player demo however there is no evidence that you will be able to use it in multiplayer.

Another similarity with other modern shooters is the fact that weapons have to be unlocked in order to be used. This is obviously a feature that has been taken from Call of Duty and restricts the use of interesting guns for the player. It also gets in the way of enjoying Doom for its large variety of different and entertaining weapons that were easily obtainable within the first few levels of previous Doom titles therefore leaving the player with the rest of the game to enjoy the mass weapon variety that has been given to him. Foe certain people this even acted as the franchise’s unique selling point because there aren’t many other things that are as fun as blowing the head off of a large hell monster with an energy beam laser rifle.

Lastly the game also uses random hack module drops to give a boost to a certain aspect of the player. The drops themselves look like something that is found in Destiny and should therefore not really exist within Doom. There is also a Halo/Call of Duty-ish double jump thrusting mechanic which acts as the icing on the cake for making Doom’s multiplayer eerily similar to every other modern shooter that is currently out there.

Overall the game does not seem to be a bad game by generic standards, however it is a giant disappointment by Doom standards because too many features and aspects appear to be directly borrowed from other mainstream shooters that are the most popular on the market. Perhaps the developers were looking to make the game’s multiplayer more mainstream in an attempt to pique the interests of a casual Call of Duty and Halo player, but the problem is that Doom has always been seen as an arena shooter with its own unique charm, and most of its community will always consist of old as well as new Doom fans. The classic Doom to be precise. Hopefully the developers will address the problems that are listed above, if not then Doom may end up being just another game that is popular for two weeks and then never touched again by most.
