The new Deus Ex: Mankind Divided trailer has recently been released and appears to explain the basic idea of the game’s story, as well as show a few of the new augmentations that are going to be featured in the game.
The story seems to be centred around the resulting consequences of what happened at the end of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, with the main protagonist (Adam Jensen) venturing out once more to uncover the dark secrets of the richest and powerful people on the planet. The story will also focus on the new threat of social unrest between people who carry augmentations and those who are still considered to be completely natural human beings.
The trailer mentions that Adam has a lot hidden experimental augmentations, which is most likely just used as the game’s excuse to include new and interesting abilities. One of these new abilities include covering yourself in a Nano shield and as a result “rove through like a reinforced tank”. Others that are shown include taking out multiple enemies without instantly killing them as well as using Nano blade grenades for the exact opposite effect. The trailer also shows that players will have the ability to customize their weapons which could be very handy for stealth oriented playthroughs of the game.
The game is set to release on August 23rd 2016, and by the looks of it, it’s very likely to be as good or even better than the previous title in the franchise.
